Spring-Summer 2014 – The first thing that I notice about the Versace collection this season is the colour, entire outfits made to look as though they have been attacked by paint, models that look as though they have as well, all in contrast with entire outfits made up of black, or brown or khaki. There were lots of typically ‘summer’ garments; jumpsuits, short suits, swimwear and vests. It wouldn’t be a Versace collection without a bright gaudy pattern either – and this collection does not disappoint – its a combination of geometric and abstract, colour and black and white and very eye-catching. There’s lots of gold detailing and pieces that look like they are inspired by going on safari. Another huge contrast is the mix of smart casual. Tailored jackets are combined with casual trousers with turn ups and smart sleeveless shirts with shorts. And of course, the fact that the models are covered in different coloured paint lines which makes for a collection which is fun and  frivolous enough for the coming season.
