Junia Watanabe
Spring-Summer 2014 – Junya Watanabe’s collection for Spring/Summer is very practical. There are lots of anorak coats, with buttons and zips and pockets, to keep in everything the average man could need; the playful twist on this is the colour schemes. Some of them are beige nand navy blue, others blue and white striped, and some are yellow, red or green. Almost every single outfit on the catwalk came with its own accessory in the shape of a bag. These ranged from cute leather satchels, to backpacks or stripy holdalls; not forgetting of course the hat that was teamed with almost every outfit. What interested me the most was the details. There were a few sneaky Hawaiian prints, and I really liked the way the jackets were made of patches of different fabrics, for example a pocket would be a different colour, making the jackets completely unique.
