Etro
Spring-Summer 2014 – The colour scheme of Etro’s Spring/Summer 2014 collection is decidedly summery. There’s lots of white beige, yellow and orange. The whole collection has a Mexican theme (my first clue was the giant sombreros) but there is also some very interesting details. There are some beautiful patterns and printed scarves included as a contrast to the other plain garments. Another thing I noticed was the subtle use of colour blocking. Jackets and trousers were made using different sections of different coloured fabrics. These colours were probably only about a shade different, but it is things like this and the ‘cowboy’ style patterns which set this collection aside from anything else I have seen this season.
