Spring-Summer 2014 – Bottega Veneta kept their collection this season very classic. Most of the pieces were elegant and understated two-piece suits. There were a few twists however, shirts with lapels, almost like a shirt/jacket combination. Scribbly lines to outline the detailing of the shirts and jackets, such as the buttons, pockets and plackets. This was usually black on white and white on black to create an interesting contrast. There was also a large amount of cardigans, layering up and short sleeve shirts; to give just the hint of which season this collection is for. Another point of interest is the use of patterns on the otherwise standard suits. Both the trousers and jackets have similar patterns, but in different scales, or sports jackets with a completely different pattern to both the shirt underneath and the trousers. At first this collection seems less dramatic than other collections but it is only when we look closer we realise the little details that set it apart from others.
