Paul Smith

Autumn-Winter 2012/13 – “The Paul Smith touch in a new way”. Paul doesn’t want to push the man into a new way of thinking and scare him into a total wardrobe change, but a gentle nudge in the right direction never goes amiss. He played with easy colours like brown, navy blue and black in order so they can be pieces to add to an already established wardrobe, but with neon additions creating an exciting pop of colour. The silhouette was not of the nautical man we expected from the backdrop and “Portobello on Sea” soundtrack, but rather that of a generic Paul Smith man, skinny trousers, waistcoats and fitted jackets, perfect from boardroom to bar. He focused on luxurious fabrics in wool, alpaca and camel hair. A simple and safe collection, but a very sellable one.
