Salvatore Ferragamo

Autumn-Winter 2012/13 – There was a sinister feel to this show, with a formidable score playing over the sound system and a dark atmosphere worn on the faces of the models. Massimiliano Giornetti’s man was an assassin or a corrupt businessman, a wealthy gentleman with skeletons in his closet. There was a sort of Wall Street like obsession, this collection never moved far away from the boardroom, unless it was toward that of a travelling businessman. Although definitely in keeping with the emerging theme of the dandy for AW2012, seen through the incorporation of maroon velvet, V-neck cashmere worn with a suit and swathing scarves, this was more of a story being told in the business world, a man not to be trusted, perhaps a take on the feeling towards that world today.
