Emporio Armani

Autumn-Winter 2011/12 – There was a definite industrial feel to the Emporio Armani AW11 collection which had an emphasis on texture. It opened with chic sportswear for golfers; flat sports caps and aviator sunglasses, golf gloves and bags, loose fitting trousers golf shoes with pullovers (check materials and insert). The waterproof plastic windbreakers, sleeveless jackets and jumpers, greys blacks navies and whites felt quite futuristic and minimalist. The tan leather gloves with what seemed like oil stained fingers, the cargo style trousers teamed with trilby’s and long trenches, jackets with asymmetric zips and large collars were quite mechanical and made one think of a time of industrial revolution. Emporio used luxury leather: trousers with pockets, tan gloves, grey leather jackets and grey trousers with large collars, grey leather gloves and light patent lace up boots to conjure a space suit look emphasising a futuristic flare.  This was further enhanced by knee high boots over leather trousers and leather waistcoats that looked like harnesses.
