Autumn-Winter 2010/11 – Vivienne Westwood’s AW 2010 menswear collection felt like I was walking through the streets of New York. She showed men from all walks of life, a cowboy with light denim jeans, a white shirt and a tall cowboy hat, a punk with a stripy jumper large red and black checked scarf and sparkly studded shoes, a golfer with his trousers tucked into golf sock and an oversized waterproof gilet, a wall street banker with his wide pinstripe suit. There were gangsters and pimps with their garish print suits and sleeves rolled up and tramps with a mismatch of layers. There were the funky boys and the boys from queens with their trilby hats, leather jackets and bad boy swagger. Prisoners in orange jumpsuits and paramedics in bright trousers with silver reflective material. Every look showed something extraordinary though, a studded sparkly belt or shoes, bright yellow socks, bright silk ties or a skirt suit instead of trousers. There is something for everyone in this fun and theatrical collection.
