Lacoste
Lacoste Woman Autumn-Winter 2017-18 – The Lacoste collection favoured a palette of what can only be described as earthy-business tones, two supposing opposing concepts, but the mix of browns, khaki and business-navy worked well when displayed on the rubble-strewn runway.
The collection showed the classic Lacoste athleisure style with a twist, varying from shell suits to long trench coats in worn leather which created a serious 50s detective vibe. The classic Lacoste logoed shell suit was given a surprisingly chic twist when presented in velvet block colours of khaki, navy and baby blue, and other designs were in multi coloured patchwork.
Aside from sports as casual wear, Lacoste presented a range of wool co-ords for women, which would not look out of place in a fashion forward office. The clean shapes and plain colours proved to be simple yet versatile for the everyday woman.
Lacoste tied the two ends of the collection together, athleisure and business, with casual flannel and gingham style shirts and dresses, often paired with puffer jacket or belted robe like coats. Overall Lacoste seemed to merge together two classic trends which are current in this and previous seasons, athleisure and business tailoring, two ideas that you wouldn’t be sure would work together, but are proving to work very well.
