John Richmond Women Spring Summer 2016
This season John Richmond has given a sex-filled, body conscious collection in geometric patterns. One of the more structured collections of the season, well-cut jackets were paired with short skirts, knee-length trousers and shorts. High collared blouses alternated between short dresses with billowy trains running behind, and square jackets with cutout details topped silky striped pants.
Models strutted down the catwalk in stripes of alternating silk prints patterning blouses and flowing dresses, and in sheer skirts or dresses with only a thong beneath. Dresses and skirts gave way to patch-decorated denim, which again turned to metallically decorated dresses and a jeweled skirt suit.
A variation of leather heels made their way down the catwalk, from peep-toe pieces with cutout designs to strappy platforms and tasseled sandals. Structured leather bags were the accessory of choice, from a woven pink piece to a boxy architectural handbag detailed with zippers. Architectural patterns give sophistication to these sultry silhouettes. There is a clear seventies influence through many pieces, but in more contemporary lines than last year’s spring summer collection.
