Issey Miyake
Issey Miyake Woman Autumn-Winter 2017-18 – Striking green colours hit the runway making way for variants of deep purples, nebulous blues and intense burgundies that flashed before the audience much like a night-time aurora.
The daring collection featured signatures pieces, most noticeably seen through the plethora of pleats in anything from dresses to shawls and coats. Pin-striped jackets were a staple too, cut in such a way that framed hoods around the face and gave an almost athletic and Byzantine feel. Wavy lines of green and black complimented the curved hem on many pieces, a standout being a rounded style of jumper tucked neatly into a straight skirt with contrasting horizontal detailing which shimmered into an almost hypnotic combustion.
The shoes in this collection were most definitely the show stealer, with suede sneaker style sock-boots in a range of blues and blacks and ankle-strapped shoes with an almost pleated style sole, offering a magnificent colour-change effect. Miyake delivered a collection which looked as if it were cultivated within a burnished rainbow, with an elevation of the draped clothing achieved through the gradient colour fill and dynamic frames.
