Alexis Mabille
Spring-Summer 2013
From organza camisoles to taffeta ruffles, Alexis Mabille’s SS13 couture collection was a romantic and intimate affair. Opening with a pastel palette of blush pinks and pure whites, Mabille showed slim cigarette pants paired with lace trimmed vests, which were followed by a selection of gauzy cocktail dresses, sure to be a favourite for the quirky red carpet dresser. As the show went on, hemlines lengthened and swathes of chiffon skimmed the models’ ankles, whilst more structured slimline dresses punctuated the more fluid silhouettes. Mabille’s penultimate look comprised every ingredient of the show’s aesthetic; floor length pleats, intricate lace embroidery and floral detail, a fanciful finish to a charming show.
