Haider Ackermann
Haider Ackermann Woman Autumn-Winter 2017-18 – Feminine tailoring was a staple at Ackermann’s morning show, where silhouettes never looked as defined.
A sharp and neat colour palette was established from the off; monochrome looks permeated throughout, with a subtle addition of gold thread and a bold blue to finish. This simplicity perfectly matched the clean lines of the silhouettes, with many items tailored in such a way that exaggerated the waist and slightly puffed the shoulders. Thin, tightly strapped belts were used to give some outfits a peplum finish and allowed the structured flounce to sit over fitted leather pants or carrot leg trousers.
As the show neared its end, a few more brazen ensembles started to appear. A twisted shirt with small peephole around the chest gave a sensual touch, whilst a Persian blue suit with an etched texture and turned-up hem added a pop of colour to the two-tone consistency.
Makeup was kept to a minimal, however the short and cropped sides of the hairstyles contrasted to the longer and fluffier top, which worked towards an added layer of austere attitude.
