Guy Laroche
Guy Laroche Woman Autumn-Winter 2017-18 – Less is more is the sentiment that attaches itself to Guy Laroche’s collection, emanating a transparency that carves an elegance out of the slinky and the sensual.
Beginning with a fitted jacket featuring a band of fur wrapped around the body heralded the start of pieces that had both luxury and ease. This style was repeated with reinvented colours of a deep blue jarred with a dark bottle green, giving a certain regal effect through a causal construction. Asymmetric dresses gave the runaway a shot of electric colour in shades of fuchsia, lime and light cobalt, with a long flowing pant complimenting the plain detailing of an open-necked shirt.
A shearling jacket over a plunging white top and wide navy pant as well as an off-the-shoulder item that bared the shoulders, creating a beautiful contrast to the extravagantly flared white skirt, were key ingredients in the vibrant mix of juvenile refinement.
Laroche manages to offer up simple and elegant pieces rejuvenated by blasts of colour and a modernized sense of playful innocence.
