Giorgio Armani Privé
Giorgio Armani Privé Haute Couture Spring-Summer 2016 – Mid-thigh dresses and shorts dominated this collection, turning to gowns and flowy slacks. In regard to color, this collection seemed a study in dawn: pieces in pale blue, lavender and jet black alternated in a parade of chiffon and satin. The show opened on a pale lilac short and jacket set, with a mandarin collar and precise, tailored lines. The pieces ebb from this definitive style, flowing to a more whimsical, flirtatious feel with ruffled chiffon hems in swirling patterns.
Tiled sequins leant light and texture to a number of looks, along with beading, gathered chiffon and a number of swirling and striped fabrics. The final gowns focus on bared shoulders and the décolletage, in strapless, floor-sweeping looks with full skirts and slim bodices. Sequined lines stripe down the pale lavender piece, widening along the lines of the full skirt, while the next gown is in layers of sheer midnight blue with waving stripes of sparkling black.
Accessories such as ankle boots and round glasses combined with sleek, carefully waved hair offer a polished finish to this cultivated collection. Structured frame bags, bucket purses and simple clutches were occasionally carried down the runway.
