Giles Women Spring Summer 2016 – An Elizabethan style show of historical influences, presented in a banqueting hall with supermodels usually found sitting front row including Poppy Delevingne, Alex Wek and Georgia May Jagger – this was Giles Deacon SS16.

Dramatic English romance was the mood for baroque print gowns in muted colours with extravagant cuts and silhouettes. Oversized smocks and tiered tops created luxurious daywear options whilst printed vines crept moodily up dresses. Birds of paradise appeared as opulent prints and applique on skint tight catsuits and full skirts. Models hair hung in tendrils with classic red lips and pointed court shoes with oversized ankle straps.

Showstoppers included a full length foxglove print evening gown featuring 3D flowers worn with a huge feathered hat and velvet choker.

For the finale, Erin O’Connor and Karen Elson wore laser cut, micro pleated gowns with underskirts of layered tulle and jagged structured necklines. Giles created a dramatic and extravagant collection, steeped in history, manipulated for the present day.
