Fendi
Fendi Woman Spring Summer 2017 – Karl Lagerfeld and Silvia Venturini Fendi outdid themselves in Milan this season. The Fendi show was a stunning continuation of “Legends and Fairytales”, which celebrated 50 years of Lagerfeld as creative director.
There seemed to be a French influence to the ultra girly collection. Models walked the runway like little Marie Antoinettes in colours usually reserved for bakery goods, pale pink cupcake and peachy sorbet hues. There were billowing sleeves and striped silks, sweet aprons and sumptuous floral sprays.
Despite the Rococo echo, there was something incredibly modern about the collection. Sheer fabrics made ladylike sexy and aprons revealed silken underwear as the models twirled around. Fur was surprisingly minimalist, confined to a bumblebee striped yellow gilet.
Beautiful bags were decked with fluffy blue pompoms and flower appliques and charms swung from them as the models walked the runway. Elegant ankle boots, inspired by football socks, were laced up the front with ribbons and models lips were pouts of glitter.
