Ermanno Scervino
Ermanno Scervino Woman Autumn-Winter 2016 – Perhaps it was the white catwalk, which conveyed a snowy background of St Petersburg’s that the collection started off with ‘War & Peace’ vibes. Military style coats in maroon and white, heavy on the fur epaulets kicked off the theme.
Then came microscopic jacquard prints, also on coats this time void of military fastenings. But even with that army aspect the collection, translated a romance on the catwalk through fine silks, gossamer-lace Victoriana silhouettes and a springtime colour scheme juxtaposed with the greys of tweeds.
Skirt lengths contrasted with long slim trousers, whilst necklines opened up to display snippets or full shoulders. Floral peplum and tulip shapes of tweed jackets functioned well with floral applique on said items, while feminine sensuality continued through the abundance of scallop trimmed lace, and a glistening jacquard silk slip contained a mermaid quality.
The winning accessory was one made of fur, and despite gracing wrists and hems, fur hoods became their own spate entity.
