Emporio Armani

Emporio Armani Woman Autumn-Winter 2016 – Armani continued the 80s theme for AW16, with garments were stencilled with geometric retro vectors of triangles and rectangles, ranging in scale and colour.

The shapes were abundantly sprinkled along fuzzy sweaters, and velvet cardigans, whereas the bottoms retained a carefree attitude, and stood loose and structure-free for the most part and gathered at the waist. Washed out Miami style and wriggle repeat patterns, also repeated to create a juxtaposition with the modern streamlined silhouettes.

Geometric slices of triangles were used as buttons broaches and badges on boxy coats of velvet and larynx. Whist bracelet-sleeved long coats swung in rhythm with the flowing skirts. There was a cartoonish air to the collection, instantly elevated by the “neo pop” features of colour blocking and loud patterns.

This along with, neon coloured pumps paired with PVC skirts or puffy Elizabethan style shorts- injected a certain playfulness. Memphis prints dazzled on cute rompers and boiler suits.
