Elie Saab
Elie Saab Women Autumn-Winter 2015 – Elie Saab led his model army deep into the woods to tell a more darker twisted tale as opposed to his signature fairy-tale romance.
This season the collection had a sinister soul, more so than anything we have seen from the designer previously. The first part of the collection was full of military precision, strength and constructed silhouettes. An army green colour palette, metal buttoned details and peep toe laced up heeled boots toughened up the looks.
Deeper into the forest and the looks became more inspired by their surroundings, Mother Nature. A trouser suit and dresses adorned with a climbing ivy and richly hued lichen motif.
The colour palette progressed into midnight blue and black with lashings of purple, deep red and olive. Laced bare branches decorated shirt sleeves or were woven into the leather looks.
Then came the gowns; a staple piece for the Lebanese fashion designer. The pieces flowed with flattering foliole beading and open work artistry. Simply stunning!
Definition was added with belts cinching in at the waist and utilitarian zips ran down their backs.
This show had a great femme fatale appeal. The Elie Saab woman had a fabulous sense of power, femininity, and an astute flare for danger.
