Christian Dior
Christian Dior Haute Couture Spring-Summer 2017 – Christian Dior’s use of flowing fabric and movement allows each design to create a mythological ethereality. The elegant dresses flatter and highlight the feminine form, exhibiting plunging necklines, fitted bodices and flower prints in tandem with the centrality of sheer fabric to the collection. The use of organza subtlety evokes a power and presence amidst the gentle femininity of the rest of the designs, working with the employment of large headpieces acting as crowns of regality and dominance. A plethora of colours and fabrics seem to recreate both the dark and the light morality of an enchanted world, creating a beautiful contrast between the likes of dark velvet and flowing nude silk. Models wore minimalistic makeup, creating the perfect canvas upon which to accent bold accessories worn on the neck and face.
