Chloé
Chloé Woman Autumn-Winter 2016 – Chloé took you on a journey of discovery in a collection which channelled intrepid explorers and the freedoms of independent travelling in style.
Biking gear made a particular impact with looks comprising of leather head-to-toe perfectly defining the strength and action-ready approach of the designs. The addition of cravats revealed by the slightly unzipped jackets made the pieces seem even more effortlessly cool and the brass zip detailing added a further toughness, underlined by high quality tailoring.
Soft leather was also present in the form of cropped trousers and a-line skirts but these pieces were often teamed with loose chiffon shirts in pastel colours or slightly oversized shearling coats which added femininity to the adventure-proof designs.
Stunning peasant dresses and flowing ponchos broke up the ferocity of some of the pieces too, creating something dreamily romantic about the collection as a whole. The combination of inky blue tones with sheer and floral embroidery on many designs enhanced that atmosphere further and the models’ loose rather than androgynous hair ensured that the image of a very womanly explorer was never far from one’s mind.
The accessories were also to-die-for, especially the calf length block-heeled biker boots which complimented floaty kaftans and leather trousers alike. Chloé’s new bag offering, the Lexa, was also perfect for the travelling theme; a satchel slung casually over the body, no doubt carrying a well-stamped passport.
