Carolina Herrera
Carolina Herrera Women Autumn-Winter 2015 – The natural world has been clear inspiration for Carolina Herrera’s collections, including last season where Herrera played with flowers in a modernistic style. This time round, the use of water has been advocated. “I don’t do years. I’m trying to go to the future.” Says Carolina Herrera, showing her inspiration is from around what she sees in the present, and what she Herrera can create for the future rather than the past – which is a refreshingly new concept, in comparison to other designers.
The blue and white catwalk resemble the obvious inspiration as models show off the beautiful collection of delicate grey wool and soft blacks, all decorated divinely with with waved lines or abstract patterns of water – spatting water, calm water, raindrops and all types of water wash over the collection.
The structured cuts and shapes of the collection also show how Herrera looks to the future, giving models broad shoulders, with heavily textured scarves – mix of ruffles and embellished threads spreading between the clothes. The collection is a beautiful representation of what to look forward to this autumn/winter and a further revelation on the Carolina Herrera brand aesthetic.
