Alexandre Vauthier Haute Couture Autumn-Winter 2016-17 – At this years Haute Couture Show, Alexandre Vauthier has created his vision of the strong leading lady.  In some pieces he uses a very boxy, 80s like shape to evoke this idea of a conquering heroine.  Vauthier makes an in credibly smooth transition between work wear and nighttime wear. He begins by using colours such as black and khaki, which immediately create this idea of the strong woman in military wear perhaps making the statement that women can be both strong and sexy.  Vauthier creates this statement by using a vast mixture of materials including studs, leather, furs and crystals.  It is evident that the combination of materials creates a real sense of female empowerment.

Favorite piece- a very popular piece from the collection is the crocodile skirt, this is a timeless piece asserting female empowerment.
