Stella McCartney to Launch Menswear Line
Stella McCartney to Launch Menswear Line
Stella McCartney has made waves in women’s fashion, and now it appears she will turn her talents to menswear as well. Several publications announced yesterday that McCartney has made menswear her next endeavor, recalling her early days working for Edward Sexton, her father’s tailor on Savile Row.
McCartney has expressed a versatility in design throughout her career. After her appointment as creative director at Chloé in 1997 she established her own eponymous house in 2001, which has only shown upward movement and great popularity over the past 15 years. Concurrently she has produced capsule collections with Gap Kids, which led to the addition of a line for children to her house in 2010; and several activewear collections with Adidas, not to mention having designed the uniforms for the British athletes at the 2012 Olympics.
Having made strides in womenswear, childrenswear and activewear, menswear seems a logical step considering her experience and talent. The collection is expected for the Spring/Summer 2017 season.
