NYFW: Tory Burch’s sleek, contemporary take on Folk Art

Posted on

Tory Burch revisited a homespun luxury version of the 1960s and 70s this season, sending out fresh-faced girls in chunky spiral earrings, beaded necklaces, and rib-knit sweaters. There were plenty of pastoral and tropical prints, a colorful block pattern and plenty more elaborately woven dresses and soft summer knits.

The color palette stuck with mostly soft, natural dyes, while some final looks introduced a touch of metallic with a few Grecian motifs. The woven theme continued with the bags, which included straw box-bags with brass clasps, and multicolored knit shoppers which matched long dresses.

The designer, famous for her gold-buckled ballerina flats, also embraced this season’s fetish for a flat shoe, from ice-white desert boots to relaxed sandals.
