Marks & Spencer Collaborate with Van Der Ham
Marks & Spencer have announced their next collaboration, to be made available online and in stores April 14th, created with London-based designer Michael van der Ham. The Marks & Spencer Design team’s collaboration with van der Ham has resulted in an 8 piece accessory collection comprised of handbags and shoes. The collection is brought to life in a combination of metallic tweeds, bright colors and contrasting fabrics, staples of van der Ham’s own work.
On the topic of the collection, van der Ham stated that, “Contrasting fabrications and the layering of textures have always inspired my creative; so I wanted to produce a capsule collection of accessories that was true to this aesthetic, but with a playful spring edge.”
Marks & Spencer is taking advantage of the popularity in designer and celebrity collaborations of late, offering capsule collections in a range of styles from a number of different influencers. A 31 piece collection of designs from the Marks & Spencer archive re-imagined by model, presenter and popular fashion figure Alexa Chung will also be released this April, titled “Archive by Alexa.” Model Jourdan Dunn has also created a 22 piece children’s line with the department store, titled “Lil’ LonDunn,” inspired in part by Dunn’s 6 year old son and her hometown of London, described as a fun and urban collection.
