Kate Moss stars in new campaign for Stuart Weitzman

One of fashion’s biggest names, British supermodel Kate Moss has teamed up with her old friend, Peruvian photographer Mario Testino, to shoot a new Spring/Summer campaign for New York City-based shoe designer Stuart Weitzman.

Kate Moss comes with proven star power but has never before focused on a dedicated footwear campaign for an American shoe designer. Scouted by Storm Models founder Sarah Doukas back in 1988, Moss has spent over 20 years at the top of the modeling industry. Still one of the best-paid models in the industy, she was estimated by Forbes magazine to have earned $9.2 million from May 2011 to May 2012, beaten only by Brazilian icon Gisele Bündchen. Moss has ongoing big endorsement deals with Longchamp and Rimmel, while a longstanding agreement with Topshop saw the model collaborate with the brand on a Kate Moss for Topshop clothing line from 2007 to 2010. 

The Stuart Weitzman international advertising campaign launches in March next year in the United States, Italy, France, Canada, Dubai, Germany and Asia and will hit major print magazines including Vogue and Elle. In addition billboards and posters will go up in Los Angeles, New York, Miami, Milan and Paris. 

Born in 1942, US shoe designer Stuart Weitzman began creating footwear for his father’s shoe company in the early 1960s after attending the famed Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania. After selling and then buying back his family company in the 1970s, Weitzman has worked to build a global luxury footwear brand. The label now has 40 retail stores in the United States, with locations including New York, Beverly Hills, Chicago, Boston and Las Vegas. Weitzman also operates a further 42 international stores, and the brand’s shoes are sold in boutiques in more than 70 countries. Previous faces of the brand include Russian supermodel Natalia Vodianova.
