Kanye West Wins Fashion Award

Despite his dubious position as fashion designer, Kanye West has managed to bag himself a highly regarded fashion award. His Adidas x Yeezy collaboration Yeezy trainer, which is high top in premise and has a touch of the avant garde in shape, has been announced as the winner of the honour of Footwear News’ Shoe of the Year.

Many may find this award wrongly accredited, especially when news of West’s diva-like antics ricochets around the fashion world – just this year, for his SS16 collection show, West announced the time and place for his Yeezy show last minute, upsetting fledgling designers whom it clashed with. It seems that the juggernaut of brand West shows no sign of slowing down – but is his success with Yeezy fairly given? Without his name behind the brand, it is doubtful whether Yeezy would reap the level of victory it does.
