Givenchy opens Las Vegas store in US rollout

Givenchy has opened a 3100 square foot (about 288 square meter) store at the Wynn Resort Promenade in Las Vegas, the brand’s first US store since its New York City flagship closed in 2008, and “a major milestone,” according to CEO Sebastian Suhl.

Designed like the brand’s Parisian flagship on the Rue St Honoré, the concept is based around the Givenchy boxes used to deliver haute couture gowns and dresses to customers. Here the lacquered wood boxes are blown up into full rooms, with floors in natural oak parquet (the same as the brand’s haute couture salons on Avenue George V in Paris).

Marble wall niches hold bags and accessories, with small leather goods on brass stands. The walls and floors of the entrance are also in American marble. The full men’s and women’s lines are on sale alongside three limited edition Shark Chain bags, which are available exclusively at the Las Vegas store. The bags come in red crocodile skin with red lining, lambskin leather and pale gold hardware.

Fans of the brand can expect more stores soon: “the United States is a strategic market for Givenchy and we shall roll out retail units in other key cities during 2014,” added Suhl. A New York City store on Madison Avenue is set to appear in the fall.
