Free People unveils August ‘magalog’
Free People has created its own ‘August Issue’ starring Joan Smalls on the front cover. The 47-page ‘magalog’ is a magazine-style catalog that will go out to the brand’s fans, filled with trends for fall, editorials and interviews.
Models include Joan Smalls, one of this season’s faces for Italian brands Gucci and Missoni; Russian supermodel Sasha Luss (the face of Dior Beauty for Fall 2014); and North Carolina-born Martha Hunt, recently unveiled as the star of the latest Juicy Couture Black Label campaign. They were shot by photographers Paola Kudacki, Thomas Northcut, and regular Free People collaborator Guy Aroch.
The August magalog also features interviews with “Limitless” star French actress Rebecca Dayan; DJ Alex Richards (daughter of Rolling Stones legend Keith); and Natalie Bergman of Chicago brother-sister musical duo Wild Belle.
Previous Free People catalogs have featured some of fashion’s biggest stars from Candice Swanepoel, Anja Rubik, Behati Prinsloo, Dree Hemingway, Karlie Kloss, Freja Beha Erichsen, to Erin Wasson. An increasing number of brands and retailers are getting involved in glossy print magazines including Net-a-Porter.com which launched their new monthly, Porter earlier this year.
