DIY sees the New York City-based luxury label give models their own camera and send them off into the wild to take a series of self-portraits wearing the latest Rag & Bone gear.

The newest star to line up, joining previous famous faces including Carolyn Murphy, Czech supermodel Karolina Kurkova, and Chinese beauty Liu Wen, is model Emily Ratajkowski, famed for her appearance in the controversial video for “Blurred Lines” by Robin Thicke.

“It’s an exciting and crazy transition time and I wanted to capture that by shooting basically in my empty apartment and around the city – it’s a fresh start,” explained the London-born, California-raised 22-year-old, who has recently signed on to appear alongside Ben Affleck in next year’s film adaptation of “Gone Girl.”

Emily was also inspired by David Byrne’s 2012 book “How Music Works”: “I’m decorating my new apartment so I’ve been obsessed with the idea of how space and living spaces affect you. Byrne talks about how music is made for a setting — for a particular space, and I find that really interesting.” She had help from two friends with her self-portraits which see her horsing around with animal statues and playing with her pet dog. “The shots reveal a playfulness to her personality and she looks really cool in the clothes,” added Rag & Bone founding partner David Neville.
