British Fashion Awards: nominees announced
With winners voted for by fashion’s biggest names from around the world, the British Fashion Council’s British Fashion Awards show is one of the industry’s biggest annual events.
Announced Wednesday, there are a few key battles to check out. Excitingly, the ‘womenswear designer’ category will be won by one of three younger names who have all broken through over the past five to ten years: Christopher Kane, Erdem, and J.W. Anderson.
Jonathan Anderson is also up for the menswear designer award, going up against three of the industry’s longest established talents: Christopher Bailey for Burberry, Paul Smith, and Tom Ford. It’s not just about the Brits though. The international category will see a Paris showdown with Hedi Slimane (for Saint Laurent) shortlisted alongside Nicolas Ghesquière (for Louis Vuitton) and Raf Simons (Dior and his namesake label).
