Patterned Ground
Patterned ground fabrics are fabrics that are printed all over. These prints are generally the background of the fabric which has bolder motifs or designs over the top. The ground pattern is usually a small, close together pattern to contrast with the foreground but many patterns, motifs and colours can be used. This is generally printed onto the finished piece of fabric.
