Crepe-Backed Satin

Crepe back satin is a fabric that is reversible. It is made using a satin weave and features a satin face and a crepe back. Crepe back satin is generally made from Silk, but can also be manufactured from synthetic fibres or blends. It is used for dresses, blouses, linings and eveningwear. The front of the fabric is smooth and lustrous, whereas the back is slightly ribbed and pebbly. Either side of the fabric can be used as the technical front. If the crepe side is used as the right side it is known as ‘Satin Back Crepe.’
