Swanskin
Swanskin fabric was originally a fabric that was literally the skin of the swan with the feathers still attached, however more recently because of the preservation of the swan it has now come to describe a type of brushed cotton flannel fabric. It is usually constructed using a twill weave and has a soft nap. It is also come to mean a coarse, woollen cloth that is napped so that it resembles flannel and blanket woollens. This was termed ‘Swanskin’ because of its thickness and whiteness.
