Milan menswear: latest highlights from Marni, Jil Sander, Emporio Armani
Marni
Consuelo Castiglioni’s collection featured a typically forward-thinking series of contemporary, urban outfits. The sporty, loose silhouettes came in a dense color palette of deep blues, greens and grays with flashes of red and yellow. Light wool suiting came short and tight in the jacket, with long lean trousers, and bonded sweatshirts appeared with vibrant prints.
Emporio Armani
The Italian master returned with a collection focused on the power of black and white graphic lines. The sporty-luxe vibe included footwear variations on a skate shoe and quilted short-sleeved hoodies, while more retro elements included semi-sheer 50s pajama shirting.
Jil Sander
The latest collection mixed sportswear and suiting (elastic bands on the wide pants), athletic stripes and a watercolor palette featuring white, gray, pink and bright lime. This was yet another collection to focus on the sandal (here with a chunky sole, and worn with dark socks) alongside hi-top sneakers.
