Milan menswear: highlights from day 2
Missoni
Missoni served up plenty of its trademark innovative and intricate knits and weaves, mostly cut tight to the body. Check suiting came with a choice of trousers or shorts worn by models in woven mule sandals and slip-on skate shoes, shirts billowing open.
Vivienne Westwood
The grande dame of British fashion offered her suiting in checks, pinstripes and a mash-up checkerboard. The more streetwear-oriented pieces featured multicolored floral prints with political statements and slogans imploring the audience to ‚Save the Arctic‘ and expressing ‚Moral Outrage‘ at the factory farming of pigs.
Prada
On Sunday evening Miuccia Prada sent out her models on a raised runway sitting above cobalt blue waters. Footwear-wise, there were more sandals with suits (a key trend this season) while the label’s clothing was playful. A surpiqure effect on the dark opening looks gave way to a series of 70s-influnced outfits built around denim and cable-knit sweaters.
