Kate Upton appearing in next Victoria’s Secret catalog

Kate Upton started her modeling career with catalog work for Victoria’s Secret, her curvier-than-the-average-model figure drawing plenty of fans and appearing on the cover of Vogue, Sports Illustrated and Carine Roitfeld’s CR Fashion Book. 

However, last year there seemed to be something of a rupture between the brand and young Upton, with Victoria’s Secret casting director Sophia Neophitou quoted by the New York Times explaining that Upton would not be appearing in the Victoria’s Secret fashion show, in no uncertain terms:  

“She’s like a footballer’s wife, with the too-blond hair and that kind of face that anyone with enough money can go out and buy.” It sounded like the end of the collaboration to many of us. 

However, the brand appears to have pulled off something of a volta-face, hiring 20-year-old Upton to shoot its latest catalog, wearing the popular ‚Body bra‘. 

It remains to be seen whether Upton will be invited to join the brand’s famous ‚Angels‘ for the televised lingerie show this fall.
