Art photographer shoots Ryan McGinley for new Uniqlo campaign
Uniqlo has hired Parisian fashion king and Purple editor Olivier Zahm as visual director for its latest Fall-Winter 2013 advertising campaign. The Frenchman hasn’t missed a trick, combining the creative abilities of a number of bright talents from the world of fashion and film.
Shot by fine art photographer Ryan McGinley, the photos show the models against colored backgrounds (with an added floral touch) sitting on vintage Scandinavian furniture pieces.
In a fun twist, McGinley himself appears in the adverts to model the menswear alongside Colorado-born artist Jeremy Everett, while the women’s collections are shown off by fashionista actress Chloë Sevigny and British model Lily Donaldson.
The campaign puts a particular focus on the brand’s silk and cashmere pieces. With a plethora of colors and styles the silk pieces start at $39.90, while cashmere can be snapped up from $89.90 and upwards.
Previous Uniqlo ads have featured choreographer Benjamin Millepied, model Agyness Deyn and Oscar-winning actress Charlize Theron.
