Paris fashion week: highlights from the last day

Louis Vuitton
In what was without a doubt the most anticipated show of Paris fashion week, Nicolas Ghesquière lived up to the high expectations with his first collection for Louis Vuitton. The designer emphasized leather, often pairing it with wool in outfits. Various shades of patent leather, in particular, were seen in shoes and accessories. The tailoring was highly structured, with several short dresses and skirts, either in solids or floral motifs.

Moncler Gamme Rouge
Unsurprisingly, the French-Italian brand focused primarily on outerwear, presenting a variety of jackets, parkas and coats, most of which were loose-fitting. The collection featured an abundance of prints, including some abstract motifs and others that were more representative. One of the more impressive pieces was a coat covered entirely with studs and metallic points. The color palette consisted primarily of black, beige, grey and silver, with a few touches of hot orange.

Allude
The German fashion house, known primarily for its cashmere knitwear, also presented several oversize or loose-fitting looks in Paris. In contrast to many other brands this season, Allude presented a collection that was void of bright colors, focusing instead on shades of grey, beige, white, camel and black. The dresses and skirts, for the most part, were mid-length to long. Among the more striking pieces in the collection were the long wool coats, which were worn tied at the waist.
