Matthew Williamson
Spring-Summer 2015 – Matthew Williamson is notorious for envisioning women as peacocks, with the designs being kaleidoscopic in colour and the presence of embellishment on the pieces, and the new collection was no exception. Plunging necklines, midriff cutouts and bold floral prints featured in the clothing range, drawing attention to the female form, and colours ranging from deep violet to lemon simply screamed ‘look at me’ as the models strutted down the catwalk. The flowing material, presence of feathers, floral detailing and extreme use of colour formes the theme of bohemian glamour, which was further emulated through the presence of floor length gowns and coordinated pantsuits.
Hair was parted dramatically to the side and loosely curled, further enhancing the theme of bohemian glamour, and eye shadow of a plum hue furthered the peacocking aspect of the collection. Sandals of a variety of colours, alongside the occasional appearance of a feathered purse and belt, emphasised the exhibitionist tone that shone through the collection.
