3.1 Phillip Lim
Spring-Summer 2015 – Phillip Lim’s SS15 collection seemed to aim to reinvent and reignite the repetitiveness of this season’s trends, introducing a more diverse range of muted tones and structural pieces.
Beautiful pastel shades almost reminiscent of ice cream were well chosen to accent the more standard black and white pieces peppered throughout, but the designs were far from standard. A recurring separated neckline with a warp curving to the left with thick piping in either co-ordinating or contrasting colours gave a futuristic vibe, while the clean cut forms and combination of fitted and voluminous fabrics offer a delight for the eyes.
Rigid hems layered over cropped fitted trousers and asymmetrical flowing skirts amalgamated with several on point bucket bags and shoes with the original detail of the piping from the rest of the show accentuate the depth Lim has gone to design a collection which is simultaneously breaking new ground and in keeping with current trends.
