Vivienne Tam
Spring-Summer 2015 – Vivienne Tam hits the nail on the head with a collection that perfectly encompasses her unique grasp on fashion, technology and the links between West and East fashion with an array of garments which utilise fabrics primarily used for activewear: mesh that seems like it has been stolen from a tennis court and breathable lycra, and feature beautiful expressive art designs in a range of medias.
Art seems to be the main theme running through this sports style collection, with painterly landscape prints, intricate flower and bamboo embroidery and absolutely breathtaking ceramic print work peppered with mesh that has clearly been derived from Ming dynasty ceramics.
Something as simple as all the models wearing the same plastic buckled gladiator sandals with a very on trend transparent sock and the details of hand embroidery collar edges and cut out sleeves makes the art-inspired pieces exude quality – these pieces would not go amiss in a museum.
