Paco Rabanne
Paco Rabanne Woman Autumn-Winter 2017-18 – Paco Rabanne indulged in a spectacular style of gold and silvers aimed at making an experimental statement, but one that was both practical and wearable.
Cosy knitwear ensembles started the show, with a beige, off-the-shoulder shirt complimenting a matching skirt that clung to the body, creating a sense of the messy but composed. This was juxtaposed with a bright orange shoe, harking back to Rabanne’s youthful and flamboyant aesthetic.
A key component in Rabanne’s collection was the use of metallics; many items were slinked to the side and offering one full length sleeve and one side cut at the shoulder, with matching grey and high rise loafers. Equally, a silver and shimmering grey asymmetric skirt gave a feminine touch to a stiffened, matching silver top with high rounded neckline and a rib knit detailing at the collar. Loose-fitting and comfortable were clearly sentiments that Rabanne’s wanted to drive home to the audience, with many pieces, such as a tapered bottle-green trouser or a dark grey long coat with a waited belt to offer a more feminine definition, striking a perfect blend between stylish yet easy wearing.
