Spring-Summer 2013 – Everyone looks to the Jil Sander brand for clean, purposeful and multifunctional clothing. This was exactly the agenda set out today. The tucked-in white top/shirt (so synonymous with the brand) fittingly opened the show, worn under a slick maroon dress-come-jacket with matching heeled boots. The simple colour palette of maroon, navy and white epitomised the purity of the clothing being both minimalist and modern respectively. Inescapable were the bell-shaped sleeves which have featured throughout the fashion weeks. Crisp, pleated white shirts were the perfect accompaniment to showcase the shaped and sculpted silhouette – a orange skirt stood out to dramatically highlight this curved form, as did the voluminous sleeved shirt it was worn with. The finale of white dresses with discreet and paired down sequins epitomised the collection – utterly crisp pristine, and at the same versatile.
