Marni Woman Autumn-Winter 2017-18 – Retro themes pervaded the FW17 runway. For Marni it was the ’70s. Newly at the helm of this legacy brand is Francesco Risso who brought a bit of freshness to the styling. That said as interesting as some of the pieces were, some felt off-kilter on the models and not in the best way. They would benefited from some tinkering. Still a lot of the looks, particularly the last few paillette-embellished pieces felt new and bright — not a feeling you associate with fall and winter dressing. We appreciated the relatively new designer’s take and look forward to seeing more from him.
