Fendi Woman Autumn-Winter 2017-18 – Fendi was surprising light on content this season at 49 outfits, especially when compared to Gucci’s 119-look tour de force. But the collection wasn’t lacking substance. Karl Lagerfield and Silvia Venturini skillfully played with patterns, textures and proportions (a look that showcased all of that was snakeskin and suede work suit). The more interesting styles were the sheer honeycomb knitted dresses. Somehow they were able to give these pieces shape and structure without tampering with the fabric’s innate softness. That, ladies and gentlemen, is masterful construction. While we would have like to have seen a little bit more experimentation with some of the early pieces, the onus was clearly on superior execution which Fendi achieve marvelously. Though, what else would you expect from Fendi?
