Spring-Summer 2013 – The tendency to expect the wild and wonderful from Viktor & Rolf is not without reason, but this Spring-Summer they’re opting for a more mature and wearable collection in which they call ‘clean glamour.’ The inspiration came from mirrors. The shards of mosaic glass to create belts, along with metallic silver heels and the mirrored staircase upon which the models entered were representative of this. The concept of ‘glamour’ meant Grecian goddess maxi-dresses, shining metallic silvers, and many maxi-length billowing skirts. The palette was divided two ways. First, clean and monochrome with the two colour ways diving dresses into black and white. Second, a soft flesh tone. It was both sharp and graphic, and soft and heavenly: black and white bombers teamed with light and floaty dresses. Shirts had bows fitted into the shoulders, there were tulle maxi-skirts, and embroidered roses and bows contrasted with sharper tailored trousers. Soft lilac trousers with a bow wrap at the crotch showed the mastery of Viktor & Rolf. Again, the pair orchestrated the perfect collection.
