David Koma

Autumn-Winter 2014/15 – The attention was all in the detail in David Koma’s latest collection as beautiful laser cut detail and sheer panel inserts came together to create a range that felt provocative, yet ultimately modern.

By embracing sharp, edgy cuts and clean seams the collection also nodded towards geometrical shapes giving it a cool, hip aesthetic. However, despite the geometric shaped tailoring, the use of the skater skirts and body conscious pieces added a feminine quality to the collection.

Inspired by the renaissance, David Koma’s collection embraced tight fitting corset detail and cinched in waists. Drawing attention to the neck and shoulders, the collection also embodied off-shoulder sleeves and high rise neck detail.

Similarly to what we’ve seen on the other runways this season, blacks, greys and whites made up the majority of the colour palette present. Whilst it was refreshing to see such a uniformed colour palette, the occasional flashes of bright purple and blue added energy to the serious, artistic range.

Following in the footsteps of other designers this season, David Koma’s collection maintained a uniformed colour palette and embraced both oversized and tight-fitted tailoring. However, it was the careful attention to detail in the pieces that gave this collection its stand out factor.
